Poet and writer (b. 18 April 1963,
İstanbul). He attended primary and secondary school in Samandağ and Uzunköprü.
He graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Sociology (1987). He did
his master in the same faculty, Department of Sociology (1992). His master
thesis was “İsmet Özel'de Kimlik Sorunu” (Identity Problem of İsmet Özel). He
completed his PhD in İstanbul University, Faculty of Communication. He has been
working as correspondent in Anatolia Agency (İstanbul). He was among the publishers
of the review Edebiyat Dostları. He is a member of the Writers Syndicate of
Turkey and the Turkish Authors Association.
His first critique “Arabesk'in Toplumsal İşlevi” (Social Function of Arabesque) was published in the review Yazko Somut in 1984. His poems and articles were published in Cumhuriyet Kitap, Şiirlik, Yeni Biçem,
Virgül, İskenderiye Yazıları, Promete, Edebiyat Dostları, Varlık, Edebiyat ve
Eleştiri and Ütopya. He received third rank in 1984 Sanat Rehberi Review Poetry Contest and 1987 Milliyet Sanat review Abdi
İpekçi Novel / Story Critique Contest.
