Novelist (b. 9 March 1919, Kızıltaş village / Yalta / Crimea). His childhood passed under the persecution of Russian Imperialism. He completed his education in the village he was born and in Akmescit. After finishing secondary school (1938), he studied in Crimea Institute of Pedagogy. He was recruited during the World War II and was charged as tank lieutenant in Ukrain in German-Russia war. He was taken as prisoner by Germans in same year. He took refuge to the United Kingdom with his Poland wife in 1946. He had run a restaurant in Chelsea, London. He published his first poems in the review Edebiyat Mecmuası published by Writers Union of Crimea. Cengiz Dağcı, who is the most known Turkish writer except Turkey, told about the people who were distressed because of the war between the giant powers and his neighborhood in his novels. He received Writers Union of Turkey 1988 Novel Award with his book Anneme Mektuplar (Letters to my Mother)
