Storywriter and novelist (b. 7
September 1941, İstanbul). She attended Arnavutköy American College for Girls.
She worked as an editor and correspondent at some newspapers. For many years,
she worked as a stage producer, art director and scenarist for television,
advertisements and cinema films. She spent a great part of her life in the
United States. She narrated the life story of Radomisli Cates in her novel Adı: Aylin (Name: Aylin). She also
depicted the life story of Füreya Koral, one of the famous members of the Şakir
family and the first Turkish ceramic artist, in her novel Füreya (Füreya) and the life of Münir Nurettin Selçuk in Bir Tatlı Huzur (A Sweet Peace of Mind).
Her short story
Gülizar (Rose Garden) in her book Güneşe Dön Yüzünü (Turn Your Face Towards the
Sun) was adapted for the cinema with the title Kırık Bebek (Broken Doll) and
received the Ministry of Culture Award in
