Storywriter and novelist (b. 7 September 1942, Urfa). She attended the İnkılap Primary School, Kestelli Elementary School for Girls and Karataş High School in İzmir. She graduated from Gazi Institute of Education, Department of French. Her graduation thesis was “Gerçeküstücü Şairlerde Aşk ve Mizah” (Love and Humor in Surrealist Poetry, in French). She worked as a teacher of French at high schools in Nazilli and Edirne and as a lecturer of French at Gazi Institute of Education and at Yıldız State Conservatory. She stayed in France (1971-74) and Germany (1980) for a while and settled in England in 1988.

Her first poem Salıncak (The Swing) was published in the newspaper Demokrat İzmir in 1960. She won the Sabahattin Ali Short Story Award in 1973 with one of her short stories and the Madaralı Novel Award in 1980 with her book Alnında Mavi Kuşlar (Blue Birds on her Forehead).

SHORT STORY: Sessiz Bir Dayanışma (A Silent Solidarity, 1975), Kanal Boyu (Along the Channel, 1982).

Many of her works published in Dutch and German have not been published in Turkish.
