Poet (b. 1938, Yenice village / Tarsus / İçel). He attended Yenice Primary School, Adana İstiklâl Secondary School and Diyarbakır Teacher Training School. He graduated from Bursa Institute of Education (1960). From 1960 onwards, he worked in secondary schools as a Turkish teacher and as an administrator in Muş, Erzurum, Elazığ and Urfa. He retired in 1986. He is a member of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey and the Turkish Authors Association.

His first poem was published in the magazine Şölen (1956), and his other works were published in Varlık, Çağrı, Çıra and Yelken. In the 1990s he published them in Söylem (editor-in-chief) and also in the magazine Ardıçkuşu (owner and editor-in-chief). In 2000, he won the Hacı Bektaş Veli Poetry Award with his poem Lacivert Akşamlar (The Dark Blue Nights) and in 2003 he received the Hacı Bektaş Veli Short Story Award with his work Kumsaldaki Altın (Gold on the Beach).
