Poet (b. 26 January 1951,
Güblüce village / Elbistan / Kahramanmaraş). He completed his primary and
elementary education in Elbistan (1967). He graduated from Mersin Teachers
School (1971), Anadolu University Education Graduate Program (1988). He started
to work as a teacher in Ulupınar village in Kâhta (Adıyaman) and continued in
Elbistan. He worked as the Director of Elbistan Primary School (1979-89).
Afterwards, he served as a teacher of Turkish in Cologne, Germany (1989-93). He
was elected the Kahramanmaraş parliamentary deputy from the list of the Welfare
Party in the 1995 general elections, for the Prosperity Party in 1999 and from
the list of the Justice and Development Party on 3 November 2002. He became the
head of the Prosperity Party group in parliament in 2000. He did not give up
his literary career when he was in parliament and continued to produce new
works.
His poems and articles
written under a pen name have been published in the reviews Hareket (1974-75), Yönelişler, Millî Gençlik, Mavera (1980-88) and Dolunay
(1987) and in the newspapers Yeni Devir,
Zaman (1987) and Akit (1994). He was selected the Writer
of the Year by the Writers Union
of Turkey with Bu Sevda Benim Değil (This Love is Not Mine) in
1999. He became known for his articles that were published in the review Mavera.
He is a member of the Writers Union of Turkey and the Musical Work Owners
Society of Turkey.
