Journalist-writer (b. 1929, Eskişehir - d. 15 June 2016, İstanbul). He graduated from
Kabataş High School for Boys (1947) and IU Faculty of Law (1951). He worked as director
assistant in Istanbul Radio verbal and performance broadcasting (1950-54). He began
to his journalism career as an interview writer in Son Saat newspaper (1952). He worked in Tercüman, Havadis, Yeni Sabah, Ege Ekspres ve Tasvir newspapers. He worked as general executive director and as
writer in Yeni
Sabah newspaper. In 1965, he was
one of the founders of Meydan newspaper. He
worked as one of the publishers (12th volume) and executive directors of Meydan Larousse
Ansiklopedisi (1969-73). He established
Source Books Publishing (1973) with his friends.
He published encyclopaedias such as Türkiye 1923-1973 Ansiklopedisi (4 volumes, 1974; 1 additional volume, 1981) which was about Turkey Republic’s fifty year in every field, Başlangıcından Bugüne Dünya Tarihi (3 volumes, 1974), Elörgüsü (3 volumes, 1975). In 1990, he returned to journalism in Dopan Publishing Group. He attended to the preparation process of publicity (promotional) program’s encyclopaedias such as Memo Larousse, Théma Larousse, Dictionnaire Larousse, Büyük Larousse, Demokrasinin 50 Yılı. He worked as executive director in AD Publishing. In 1995, he wrote “Telaynak” column in Posta newspaper, after 1996 he wrote “Cihannüma” column in Radikal newspaper. He made two TV programmes titled “Hakkıyla Sohbet” and “Günbegün” in CNN TURK channel. He is one of the members of Doğan Media Group Publishing Council.
