Researcher
and writer (b. 30 November 1958, Balıkesir). He completed primary, secondary
and high school at Ankara College. He graduated from Hacettepe University,
Department of Economics in 1981. He did his master’s in the same department at
Hacettepe University (1985). Starting his doctorate studies at Ukraine Free
University in Munich, Germany, Kırımlı later went to the United States and
received the title of doctor at Madison Wisconsin University, Department of
History (1990). He has been an academician at Bilkent University since 1991 and
a member of the Turkish Historical Society since 1995.
His
research was mainly related to the historical background of Turk-Muslim people
under the Russia Soviet Empires, Turk-Russian and Turk-Ukrainian relations and
the current situation of these relations.
