Beylü Dikeçligil

Sociologist. Born in Iskenderun/ Hatay on March 3, 1949. He graduated from Kayseri Sumer Primary School (1960), Ankara Bahçelievler Secondary School (1963), Ankara Cumhuriyet High School (1966) and Hacettepe University, Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences, Department of Sociology (1970). In 1971, he started to work as a sociologist at the Ministry of Forestry. Next year, he became an assistant at Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, and Institute of Sociology. He has completed his Ph.D. at the same institute with the thesis “The Relation between the Life Style and Income Level” (1979). He has conducted postdoctoral studies at Pittsburgh University in 1980. He became an assistant professor at the Hacettepe University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Sociology in 1981, an associate professor in 1995 and professor in 1995.

He worked as the (founding) President of Premiership Family Research Directorate Research Department between the years 1990-93. He worked as a lecturer at Hodja Ahmet Yesevi Turkish-Kazak International University Social Sciences Institute between the years 1995-98. He continued his career as a lecturer at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Literature, and Department of Sociology. He is the primary member of Ataturk Higher Institution, Ataturk Cultural Center Presidency.

His articles were published in the journals of HÜ Edebiyat Fakültesi Dergisi, Türk Kültürü, Türkiye Günlüğü, DTCF Sosyoloji Dergisi, Yeni Türkiye Millî Kültür since 1983 and in Yüzyıl Biterken Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türkiye Ansiklopedisi.
