Author, Bektashi dedebaba (B. 1912, Serez – D. November 7, 1997, Istanbul). Following the first month of his birth, his father, who was a soldier, was assigned to Anatolia, so he left Serez. He had different schools for each of his primary school year. After the retirement of his father, family settled in their hometown Samsun. He has completed his secondary school and high school education in Samsun (1931). He graduated from Faculty of Medicine in 1937. He specialized in Ankara Numune Hospital on otorhinolaryngology. He became a docent in Istanbul University, ENT Clinic in 1946. He left the university in 1951 and conducted his occupation as a self-employed doctor.

He is the lyricist of famous Turkish tango named “Özleyiş”, which starts with “I loved a young woman; I wish to remember her name”. He did calligraphy and marbling art. He ornamented the surrounding of his calligraphies with the art of illumination. He used marbling models of battal, sweep and scarf with the lettering. He produced samples by Ma’kili writing style, which was used in the first phase of Islam, by Latin letters. He published the journals Karacadag in Diyarbakir and Cıvıltı Children Journal in Aydin. He was also a musician playing saz and violin, along with reed flute. He has conducted the duties of Diyarbakir and Aydin Community Center Presidency, Aydin High School Parent-Teacher Association Presidency, Aydın Provinces Turkish Music Association Presidency, Aydın Children’s Library Protection Association Presidency and Aydın Cultural Association Presidency for long years. In 1970, he submitted a paper at Strasbourg University, Faculty of Literature, Institute of Technology on Shamanism-Bektashi and Masonry. He used to speak English, French, Arabic, Persian, ancient and Modern Greek. He studied for 9 years and translated the Holy Qur’an into Turkish as a poet and with 7+7 syllabic meter.
