Poet and writer (b. 1940, Vezirköprü /
Samsun – d. 11 July 1978, Ankara) he graduated from Sivas High School and
University of Rome, Department of Italian Language and Literature. After
submitting his doctorate to this university, he worked as a lecturer at
Hacettepe University Department of the History of Art. He became assistant
professor of aesthetics there. He was assassinated by unknown people with
gunfire in his car in 1978.
His poems, essays and critiques were
published in magazines such as Varlık,
Forum, Halkın Dostları, Antalya, Gelecek, Barış, Yansıma, Milliyet Sanat.
He won the Turkish Language Association Translation Award with his translation
form E.H. Gombrich, Sanatın Öyküsü (The
Story of Art) in 1977.
