Suzan Sabancı Dinçer

Business woman and banker. She was born in 1965 in Istanbul. She is a 3^rd generation member of the Sabancı family and the daughter of Belkıs and Erol Sabancı. Following her primary and secondary education, she completed her higher education at Finance and International Marketing Department of Richmond College University and her graduate studies at Business Administration Department of Boston University.

Dinçer, who has over twenty years of banking experience, started her carrier at the treasury department of BNP-AK Dredsner Bank. She was appointed as the Head of Akbank Treasury Department in 1989. In 1994, she was appointed as the Executive Vice President in charge of Treasury at Akbank. In 1997, she was appointed as Executive Director in charge of Fund Management and International Relations and in 2000, she was appointed to the Board of Directors as the Executive Director responsible for all matters. On March 28^th, 2008, she was elected as the Chairman of Akbank Executive Board.

Suzan Dinçer Sabancı, who has been among World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders since 2006, was described by Financial Times in 2007 as possibly the most powerful woman in Turkey and was accepted by Newsweek as one of the “top tycoons” of the country. Furthermore, she was listed in "Top 50 Women in World Business-The Alternative 50” list published by Financial Times. She participated in Bilderberg Meetings on May 14^th, 2009 in Athens.

Suzan Sabancı Dinçer, who has also been serving as the Luxembourg honorary consul, is also a member of the following: International Advisory Board of National Bank of Kuwait, International Advisory Board of Blackstone, Chatham House Board of Trustees, International Finance Board of Directors and Emerging Markets Advisory Board, the Chairman of the Turkish-British Business Council of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey DEIK, Global Relations Forum Board of Directors and Forum Istanbul Honorary Advisory Board.

Mrs. Sabancı Dinçer, who is interested in education, culture and art, entrepreneurship and environmental matters as well, has also taken responsibilities in the field of social responsibility. She also served as a member of Prince’s Charities Advisory Board and Sabancı University Board of Trustees, as a Founding Member and member of Board of Directors of Endeavor Turkey and as a member of Akbank Art Advisory Board.

Suzan Dinçer Sabancı, married to business man Haluk Dinçer, is the mother of a son named Haluk Akay and a daughter named Ceyda.
