Poet and writer (b. 25 July 1950, Skopje / Macedonia). The actress Nezaket Ali is his aunt and the writer Avni Engüllü is his brother. He attended Vuk Karaçiç Primary School (Skopje, 1961), Tefeyyüz Secondary School (Skopje, 1965) and graduated from Nikola Karev Pedagogy High School, Department of Teaching. He could not complete his education at Kliment Ohridski Education Vocational School, Department of French Language and Literature because of a shortage of materials. He started to work at Skopje Radio, Turkish Programs Service in 1970 and was the language redactor of this service after 1973. He was appointed to political duties such as the Chairman of the Children’s Organizing Commission (Skopje, 1976) the Macedonia Youth Union Republic Conference and the Culture Commission (Skopje, 1978). In 1980, he returned to his post at Skopje Radio as a redactor. He administered the culture and art pages of the newspaper Birlik (1981) and was the publication director of the monthly review Sesler and Birlik Publications (1982). He immigrated to Turkey in 1989. In 1990, he became the publication director of the review 4. Boyut, which was published by the İstanbul University Press Vocational School in 1990. He has been working as a redactor at İstanbul University, Printing House and Film Center since 1991.

His first poem, “Sevdiklerim” (Ones That I Love), was published in the newspaper Birlik (Skopje, 1965); his other works have been published in the reviews Türk Dili and Yedi İklim and in the newspaper Birlik. His play Kırlangıçlar Nerdeyse Gelecek (Martins Are Soon to Come) was broadcasted on Skopje Radio. Some of his poetry was set to music by Ramadan Şükrü and was performed on Yugoslavian Television. He won the Macedonia Translators Union Translation Award in 1996, the Orient- Occident Academy Balkan Grand Poetry Award in 1996 with Karanlıkla Söyleşi (Conversation with the Dark) and the Constantine Belimaçe I. International Ulah Poetry Festival (Skopje, Macedonia) Poetry Award with Sevdalı Kuşun Türküsü (Song of the Bird in Love) in 2000. His work Gök Mavisine Uçuş (Flight to Sky Blue) was translated into Macedonian in 1989 and Karanlıkla Söyleşi (Conversation with the Dark) into Romanian in 1998. Before he immigrated to Turkey in 1989, he had been a member of the Macedonia and Yugoslavia Journalists Association, the Orhan Veli Kanık Literature- Theater Community (founder, chairman for times) and the Writers Union of Macedonia. He became a member of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey and the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey after immigrated to Turkey.
