Ali Haydar (Playwright)

Playwright (B. 1836, Mihaliç- D. 1914, İstanbul). He was the son of Post and Telegraph Minister Sağır Ahmet Bey and had a private education. He worked as officer in state office, as a stenographer in Paris embassy (1857-61), as a documentation manager in Sublime Porte. Although he published a kid’s journal called Mecmua-i İntibah, he was known as the writer of first poetical scripts after Şinasi’s Şair Evlenmesi. His scripts were found weak in many aspects such as technique, Language, style.

Sergüzeşt-i Perviz (1866), İkinci Ersas (1866), Rüya Oyunu (comedy, 1875).
