Player and humor writer (b. 29 October
1943, İstanbul). After his secondary school education, he graduated from Istanbul Municipality Conservatoire, Department of Theatre. From 1960, he
performed in İstanbul State Theatres and private theatres such as Ulvi Uraz and
Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar’s. He served as player in cinema films and announcer
on the stage and TV channels. He founded and directed the company, Humor
Producing Center, with Kandemir Konduk in 1983. He has still been directing the
Müjdat Gezen Art Center in Kadıköy, İstanbul, as the president of the
Foundation of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. He is a member of Writers Syndicate
of Turkey.
His first article was published in the
review Doğan Kardeş in 1953. His humor articles were published
in the newspapers and reviews Milliyet
Çocuk, Milliyet Mizah, Cumhuriyet, Güneş, Gümgüm, Fırt. Furthermore, he wrote, directed and played
in sketches, scenarios and short stories for radio and TV. He was sent to
prison for a while in 12 September period because of his play Dizelerle Nazım Hikmet (Nazım Hikmet by Verses)
