Poet and
writer (b. 16 November 1940, Gaziantep). His full name is Mustafa Güner. His
father and grandfather were from Şanlıurfa's Halfetî region. He attended
Gaziantep Dayı Ahmet Ağa Primary School (1951), Gaziantep Secondary School for Boys
(1955) and the Department of Literature at Gaziantep High School (1958). He
graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Administration
Branch. (1963). He received his doctorate degree at the same faculty (1963-64).
He worked as assistant in the State Management Institute of Turkey and the
Middle East (1963-66), as a principal clerk in the Department of Religious
Affairs and interpreter of western languages (1966-67), as a specialist at the
National Productivity Center (1967-68), as a specialist at the Union of Turkish
Transport Employers (1968-69) and as an English teacher at Şanlıurfa Secondary
School (1970-71). He engaged in publishing for a while (1971-76). After working
as a consultant at the Ministry of Industry (1977-80), he returned to
publishing (1979). In 1980 when he was working as an advisor at the Ministry of
Culture, he was arrested by the administration of the September 12 period and
imprisoned in the Language School and Mamak for nine and a half months. He
continued publishing books on morality for children in 1981. He left Ankara and
settled in Karamürsel in 1982.
