Poet
and writer (b. 18 March 1968, Feriköy, İstanbul [registered 29 December 1969]
in Ordu). (His surname is Yeşilyurt but he has used the pen names Suna Yurt and
Orhan Gökçe in some of his works published in reviews. He attended Akyazı
Primary School until sixth grade (1980). He worked as a journalist on the
newspapers Cumhuriyet (1990), Özgür Gündem (1991) and as editor
at E Publications (1991-97). He also worked as production manager at Doku Film.
Afterwards, he became freelance. He is member of the Writers Syndicate of
Turkey, the Turkish Authors Association and the Association of Writers of
Literary and Scientific Works.
His
first poem Açım (I’m Hungry) was published in the newspaper Trübün
(Ordu, 1987), and his later works in the reviews İnsancıl, Damar,
Varlık, Gösteri, Milliyet Sanat, Adam Sanat, Hürriyet Gösteri, İnzivo, Yazıt,
Dergi, Hişt, Yaba, Dem, Berfin Bahar. He was among the founders of the
review İnsancıl. He is still the editor in chief of the arts and culture
review Ütopya. His scenario Zanpara Seyfi (Seyfi the Lecher) was
filmed in 1997 by Ünal Küpeli and was broadcast on Star TV. His first poetry
book was confiscated in Ordu, where it was published, but later permitted.
