Poet and writer (b. 10 January 1966, Kağızman / Kars). He is the grandchild of Cemal Hodja who was a folk poet. He attended Muşlu Village Primary School and graduated from Bahçelievler Technical High School, Trakya University School of Medical Services (1988) and Ankara University, Faculty of Economics (1995). He started the literary review Folklor / Edebiyat. Since 1988, he has worked as the editor of Ürün Publications in Ankara. He also became a member of the Cultural Works Publishing Consultative Committee at the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture General Directorate of Folk Culture Research and Development Publishing Board and the publishing board of the review Türk Dünyası for a period.

He began his literary career writing stories and had his first story Kayıp Kuzu (The Lost Lamb) published in 1981.

He has presented papers at many international scientific meetings held in various countries including Turkey. His works have been published in reviews such as Varlık, Yaşasın Edebiyat, Yeni Şiir, Sanat Rehberi, Eflatun, Günümüzde Kitaplar, Folklor, ODTÜ Halkbilim, Türk Folkloru, Özgür Ozan (as owner and editor-in-chief), Anadolu Ekini, Kebikeç, Turnalar, İmece, Littera. His poems have been translated into Polish, German, Roman, Uzbek and Russian. He was awarded the Ruşen Hakkı Poetry Award (2004) with his book Suları Islatan Mecnun (Mejnun Who Wetted Waters). In addition, he collected the İhsan Hınçer Award for Services to Turkish Folklore in 1995.
