Storywriter
and novelist (b. 15 November 1961, İncesu / Kayseri - d. 6 January 2013, Istanbul). He has used the pen name
Jak Laban and Andante on some of his works. He is the older brother of Hasan
Kaçan who is a caricaturist and brother of Fatih Kaçan who is a caricaturist
and actor. He gave up his studies when he was in the second class at Kasımpaşa
High School. An investigation was opened regarding his comic book İstedikleri
Yere Gidenler (The Ones who Go Where
They Want, 1996) but he wasn’t charged. He works as an editor. He is a member
of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey.
His
first article was published by Gırgır review (1985). His comic stories
have been publishing in the reviews Leman, Ustura, Mizah Kültür, Amann.
His first novel Ağır Roman (Heavy Novel), in which he narrates the life
of gypsies in İstanbul, was adapted for the cinema by the director Mustafa
Altıoklar (1997).
