Researcher-writer (b. 1935,
Üsküdar / İstanbul - d. 25 June 2008, İstanbul). He graduated from Galatasaray
High School (1954), İstanbul University, Department of Mathematics-Physics
(1957) and French National Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Technology (1958).
He is the first atomic engineer of Turkey. He became professor in 1969. After
serving as the head of İstanbul University, Faculty of Science, Chair of
Theoretical Physics and Department of Mathematical Physics for 11 years, he retired
willingly in 1984.
He worked as the Director of
Çekmece Nuclear Research and Education Center, Dean of the İstanbul University
, Faculty of Science, member of the the Scientificand
Technical Research Council of Turkey Science Council , founder council
member of the the Scientificand Technical Research
Council of Turkey Marmara Scientific and Industrial Research Center,
President of Turkish Atomic Energy Institute,
Consultant of the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry and Nuclear Power
station Project coordinator.
He represented Turkey at NATO
Scientific Committee, OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Board of Directory, Council of
Center of European Nuclear Researches and International Atomic Energy Agency
for years. He worked as consultant during the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Station
Tender in 1998-2000. He is a member of Turkish
Atomic Energy Institute Consultancy Council.
His articles over 300 about
positive, social and religious sciences were published in various newspapers
and reviews. He was given the awards of the Writer of the Year in the category
of memoirs with his work, Üsküdar’da Bir
Attar Dükkanı (An Spices Shop in Üsküdar) in 1996 and in translation
category with his translation, İbn
Arabi’nin Füsusu’ndaki Anahtar Kavramlar (Key Concepts in the Füsus
(Stones of Ring) of İbn Arabi) that he translated from professor Dr. Toshihiko
İzutsu in 1998.
