Writer (b. 1948, Şarkışla / Sivas). He also wrote under the pen names Ahmet Niyazi, Ahmet Kemal and Ahmet Şarkışlalı. He attended primary (1959) and secondary (1962) schools in Sarkışla. He graduated from İzmir Military Aeronautical School (1966), İstanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Turkish Language (1975). His undergraduate thesis was Sivas Halk Hikâyeleri Geleneği” (The Tradition of Sivas Folk Stories, 1975). He embarked on journalism and worked in the reviews Hergün (1969-75), İstiklal (1975-77), Hürses (1977-79) and Ortadoğu (1979-89). He has served in the Press Advertising Organization since 1989. He is a member of Turkey Press Association, Yesevi Foundation, Turkish Heart Foundation, Turkish Folklore Association, Turkic World Writers and Artists Foundation (founder) and the Professional Union of the Owners of Scientific, Literary and Art Works).His first essay was published in the magazine Pancar and his other works have been published in  the newspapers and the magazines Hergün, Almanya Postası (since 1969), Tarla, İstiklal, Hürses, Ortadoğu, Türk Dili, Türk Edebiyatı, Eflatun, Defne, Yesevi, Pirelli, etc. He received the first rank award in the short story branch of the competition of Turkish Aeronautical Association in 1990, the Field Cultural Service Award in 1997. He prepared and presented the programs “Halk Şairlerimiz” (Folk Poets) and “Folklor Penceresi” (The Window of Folklore) for the radio channel of Turkish Radio Television Corporation and “Bir Şiirdir Yaşamak” (Living is a Poem) for the television channel of the same corporation.
