Writer (b.
1896, İstanbul – d. 13 May 1964). He graduated from Galatasaray High School. He
left İstanbul Faculty of Literature early (1917). He began his career as a
journalist at the newspaper Akşam. He
worked as an author and chief editor.
His poems and
stories were firstly published in the reviews Yeni Mecmua (1917) and Servet-i
Fünûn. He was known for his translation of Arsen Lüpen by the French writer Maurice Leblanc and his
translations of the Sherlock Holmes
detective stories by the English writer Conan Doyle. Selami İzzet, who also
published articles and reviews on theatre, prepared twenty compilation works.
