Children’s author (B. June 1939, Tabriz / Iran – D.
1968). He was a teacher in the Azeri region of Iran
for eleven years, travelling among the villages; and he also attended the night
courses at Tabriz
University and graduated
from English language and literature. He reviewed social, economic and
folkloric structure through experiencing it. He made compilations from Azerbaijan and Iran folk literature, and he wrote
tales. He was found dead at Aras
River in 1968 during the
reign of Shah.
His book for children named Little Black Fish made him worldwide famous. This short book has
received awards in Italy and
Czechoslovakia.
Samed Behrengi has tale compilations, children’s’ books and also articles on
education. Most of his works were translated into Turkish.
