Poet and journalist-writer (b. 1942 - d. 24 August 2016, İstanbul). He is originally from Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul Commercial High School (1962). He began with his banking career at Etibank and he became Marmara Region Intelligence and Financial Analysis vice director. He has also worked as ESBANK Istanbul Region vice manager and Credit Marketing director. During this period, he established Bank Market Intelligence Association and became the president of it. He continues to work as editor of Haberde Ekspres newspaper published in Istanbul. He is the member of Journalists’ Association of Turkey and Turkey Writers’ Syndicate.

He published his poems and articles in several journals and newspapers since 1958. He was the Chief Editor of Kadıköy Newspaper between the years 1970 and 1975. He has more than forty published books (2003).

“It was a Broken Wing is the forty third book of Akerman. The main theme of his essays is our children. The internal and external world of our children, their possible future in these worlds, our stance and responsibilities….for the children differing from home-cared and homeless.
