Poet and writer
(b. 7 January 1944, Patnos / Ağrı - d. 11 June 2016). In some of his work he has used pen names
such as Akcaoğlan, Kûrşat Koray and Sadi Pelenk. He attended Patnos Central
Primary School, graduated from Erzurum High School and Ankara Gendarme
Noncommissioned Officer School. He started to work at the newspaper Patnos
Postası where he was a writer for two years (1962-64), after which he
became a gendarme noncommissioned officer in different cities and districts
(1966 to 1986). Since 1986, he has worked as an author and text writer at Türkiye,
Türkiye Newspaper Radio and Television Channel and the review Türkiye
Çocuk. At present he writes freelance for the review Size and the
newspaper Yöremiz. He is a member of the Professional Association of Scientific
and Literary Work Owners of Turkey, the Musical Work Owners Society of Turkey
and the Writers Union of Turkey.
His first poem was published in the
newspaper Milletin Sesi (Erzurum) in 1959. His following works were
published in the reviews Türk Edebiyatı, Hareket, Boğaziçi, Çığır, Kültür ve
Sanat, Ede, Ece, Çele, etc. For his work, he has been given awards by the
Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of State and
different reviews and municipalities. About ten works have been set to music in
different styles.

NOVEL: Kara Kasırga (Black Tornado, 1991), Şahidim Kılıcımdır (My Witness is My Sword, 1991), Uçurumun Çağrısı (Call of the Abyss, 1993), İğde Dalı (Oleaster Branch, 1993), Anatolia'nın Etekleri (The Bottom of Anatolia, 1993), Dağların Türküsü (Songs of the Mountain, 1993), Bir Demet Leyla (A Bunch of Leila, 1993), Unutulmayan Sevdalar (Unforgotten Love, 1998).
In addition to these, he has written many children’s novel and fairytales.
