Journalist-writer (b. 1960, Kâhta / Adıyaman) Istanbul
University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Language and
Literature (1987). He served as a editor responsible from culture and art pages
in the Millî Gazete and Zaman (1986) newspapers. He worked as an
advisor in Kâğıthane, Bağcılar, İstanbul, Büyükşehir Municipalities. He became
vice-president of the Democracy of Peoples Party (2000-2001).
From Turkish National Students
Union to Raiders Foundation, also from National Safety Party to Virtue Party and finally President Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan’s Justice and Development
Party, he has always found as an activist and theoretician in the phases of
Islamic Thought and development., He was both chief editor and one of the founders of the Girişim (1985) Yeni Zemin and Sözleşme Reviews .Starting from 1983, His essays, criticisms and political
thoughts were published in Yeni Devir,
Yeni Zemin, Mavera ve Kitap Dergisi,
Dış Politika, Sözleşme Reviews and Newspapers in addition to reviews that
he worked. He has written often on Islam, democracy, secularism,
human rights, civil society, freedoms.
