Essayist
and critic (b. 27 September 1947, Adana). He also used the pen name Naci Güven.
His father (Nurettin Ergüven) was a painter and he influenced him to stand
close to visual arts and artists rather than the other branches of art. He was
educated in chant and opera at the State Academy of Music in Munich (1967-77).
On his return, he staged some works such as Gilgamesh, Macbeth, Fidelio and Don Giovanni. He was
recognized with his monographs of painters and criticisms. He continued his studies
in İzmir.
His
essays and critiques were published in the reviews such as Filarmoni, Çağdaş
Eleştiri, Adam Sanat, Argos, Gergedan, Sanat Çevresi and Sanat Dünyamız after 1974.
His book Pusudaki Ten (The Skin in Ambush) was confiscated on a
governmental decision in 1998 as it contained obscene language. He received the
essay award of the review Gösteri in 1982, the Sezer Tansuğ Award and
the TÜYAP Criticism Award in 1999. His monographs of painters are each a source
for those studying on those painters.
