Poet (Born April 28,1868, Mecca- Died, March 30, 1901, Istanbul). He was famous during his period as “Şair-i mâderzâd” (poet from birth). He is the brother of Poet Ismail Safa, elder brother of translator and Gündüz journal’s owner Ali Kamil Akyuz, and uncle of Peyami Safa. After his father’s death, he moved to Istanbul with his family and completed his education at Darüşşafaka in 1886. He worked as a civil servant at Tax office for a while, but then he lost his mental health and received medical treatment. He died at Toptaşı Hospital in Üsküdar. He is buried in Karacaahmet Cemetery.

He set most of his articles and poems on fire in a day when he lost his mental health. But his poems in journals were collected and published by his brother Ali Kamil Akyüz.
