Journalist and writer (b. 1961 Zara / Sivas). He graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Finance (1984). He finished his master’s studies at İstanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Finance (1987). Then he worked for the Turkish News Agency, the magazines and newspapers Söz, Ekonomik Panorama, Tempo, Milliyet, agencies, reviews, newspapers and TV channels. He made the documentary films Madalyon / Cumhuriyet'in Yabancı Tanıkları (Medallion / The Foreign Witnesses of the Republic) and 12 Eylül / Türkiye'nin Miladı (12 September / The Zero Date of Turkey) with M. Ali Birand and Hikmet Bila. He has published some books on recent political history. He has been the general editor-in-chief of the TV News program 32. Gün (32nd Day)

Being a writer from the world of media, he became famous especially for his research on politics and minorities during the Republican Period. The periods between 1940 and 1964 and the Rums (Greeks with Turkish citizenship) who suffered from the “Wealth Tax” have featured prominently in some of his published books.
