Linguist and historian of literature (b. 1925, Kilis - d. 4 July 1983, İstanbul). He graduated from İstanbul Kabataş High School and İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. He began to work as an academician in the department that he had graduated from. He did his PhD there, was promoted to associate professor and professor and later retired.

He published his articles in newspapers and periodicals such as İstanbul, Hisar, Türk Kültürü, Çağrı, Kubbealtı, Akademi and Tercüman. He was known for his research and studies on the history of language and literature. He opposed the language research and the creation of new words carried out by the Turkish Language Association
