Historiographer (b. 21 March 1910, İstanbul - d. 24 May 2006). He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law (1930). He did his master’s at İstanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Philosophy (1936). After he worked as a teacher at a primary school in Ankara (1928-30) and as a teacher of history at secondary and high schools in İstanbul (1931-41), he became an lecturer at the School of Commerce (1942). He became an assistant professor in 1936, a history professor in 1952 and a distinguished professor in 1962. He retired (1980) when he was an academician at the İstanbul Academy of Economic and Commerce.

After his official retirement, he continued teaching giving history lectures at İstanbul University, Air and Land War Schools. Kaynar was a senior member of the Atatürk Culture, Language and History Association, received many honor awards from different universities.
