Poet, statesman (B.
1780- D. 1851). His full name is Es’ad Mehmed Muhlis Pasha. He was known with
the name Ayaşlı Müftüzade. He received his primary education in Ayaş. He was
appointed to Ayaş voivodship with the title of Musketeer. He became a Doorman
in 1806 and was summoned to Istanbul. He became Humbaracıbaşı (howitzer groups head) in 1819, başbaki kulu (auditor) in 1821 and then
Drama minister. He was appointed as Edirne governor in 1829. He was sent to
Erzurum and Aleppo under the military service in 1827. His vizier title was
removed in 1829 and he was exiled to Dimetoca. He was selected as the member of
Sublime Port Council in 1839, but he quit because of controversies. In July
1839, he was appointed as Bogaz guardian. He worked as governor of Sivas,
Aleppo, Erzurum, Adana, Konya, Mosul and Diyarbakir. His Divan where he compiled
his poets was published in Istanbul with the name Divançe-i Es’ad Paşa in
1852.
