Kerim Yund

Writer and poet (b. 1912, Silifke / Mersin – d. 1 May 1997). His real name is Kerim Sami. He also wrote under the pseudonyms Kerim Özdemir and Akoğlu Sami. He graduated from İstanbul Forestry School (1934), Ankara Gazi High School and Ankara University, Faculty of Law (1948). He worked at Ministry of Agriculture, General Directorate of Forestry and İstanbul Forestry Authority after he worked as an attorney in Ankara for a time. His poetry, that he wrote with syllabic meter firstly and then in free verse, and his essays were published in the reviews Köy Postası, Kadın, Hayat, Tarih Mecmuası, Ziraat Dünyası, Çınaraltı, Türk Folklor Araştırmaları and Yeşil Türkiye (1951) that he published, Türk Dili ea. He took Folklore Research Center 1989 Hasan Hınçer Award for Contribution to Turkish Folklore.
