Literature Researcher (b. 20 November 1951, Yalvaç / Isparta). After Dedeçam Primary School (1964), he entered the scholarship examinations and won the Gönen School for Primary Teachers Training School. After studying secondary school for a while, because of his musical education, he was sent to the Music Seminar, which is under the auspices of Ankara Primary Teachers Training School for Boys, (1967). He attended Ankara Primary School Teachers Training School for Boys, (1970) Maraş High School (1972) and graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of Turkish Language and Literature (1978). He was appointed as assistant to the chair of New Turkish Literature to the same faculty (1979). His master thesis was on “Şiirimizde İkinci Yeni Hareketi” (The Second New Movement in our Poetry, 1981), and PhD thesis was on “Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk Romanında Köy” (The Village in the Republican Period Turkish Novel, 1987). After working as a secondary school teacher for a while (1970-74), he was appointed as a Departmental Head of Ministry of Labor, the Problems of  Turkish Workers in Abroad Office (1976-79), He promoted to assistant professorship (1993) and professorship (2000) in the Faculty of Language, History and Geography which he has worked since 1979. He has still been in this faculty. In addition to this duty, he has charged as an assistant professorship representative of Faculty Committee (1994-97), member of Faculty Board (2001), Minister Advisor of Ministry of Culture (1996-97), and Committee of Published Works. He gave both graduate and undergraduate lectures and directed PhD thesis in the Social Sciences Institute of Hoca Ahmet Yesevî, Hacettepe, Kırıkkale, Süleyman Demirel, Anadolu, Van Yüzüncü Yıl Universities.

His first work Denize Açılan Kapı (Door Opened to the Sea) were published in Mavera review (Issue: 96, 1984). In the following years, his works were published in the Mavera, Millî Kültür, Millî Eğitim, Zirve, Yedi İklim,Yeni Dergi, Bilge, İlmî Araştırmalar, Esin Sanat, Türkoloji Dergisi, Hece reviews and in the books Necip Fazıl Armağanı (Gift to Necip Fazıl, edited by  Mustafa Miyasoğlu), Edebiyat Bilgi ve Kuramları (Literature Knowledge and Theories, 1988). Moreover he was participated some scientific congresses and presented communiqués. He served as the vice-president to the studies of sub-group of project “Türk Dünyası Edebiyat Terimleri ve Kavramları Ansiklopedik Sözlüğü” (Encyclopedic Dictionary of Literature Terms and Concepts) under the Project of Turkish World Literature under the responsibility of Atatürk Culture, Language and History Foundation, Directorate of Atatürk Culture Center. He worked as general project coordinator in preparing the program of Turkish, Turkish Language and Literature in "the Project of Education Programs of Primary and Secondary Schools" in the framework of renovation of scheduling programs in the "Urgent Action Plan" of the Ministry of National Education. He was sent to Tiran between the dates 1-9 March 2005 to prepare Albania Tiran University, Curriculum Program of the Department of Turcology.
