Writer (b. 1881, İzmir - d. 1936,
London). He attended the War School. He worked as a teacher in various schools.
He retired when he was a literature teacher at Kuleli Military High School
(1908). He was against the “Art for Art” understanding of the “Dawn of the New
Age Movement” His critiques made him one of the important critics of the Second
Constitutional Monarchy Period along with Fuat Köprülü, A. Canip Yöntem and
Şahabettin Süleyman. Apart from his compilations, he translated novels from
Western literature.
