Poet and writer. He was born in 1941 at Çepelli (Mishos) village / Komotini / Greece. He used the pseudonyms of A. Kartaltepe, A, RTA, MMR, AA, YT, RT and Rahmi Türkkan in his articles. After completing the primary school, he has won the public boarding examinations, came to Turkey and completed Malatya Akçadağ First Teachers’ School. After completing the school, he returned to Western Thrace and started to work as a teacher at the primary school in his village (1961). He was retired in 2002. Rahmi Ali has written poems, diaries, essays, memories, reviews and travel essays; and he is one of three founders of Şafak journal which was published in Greece between the years 1989 and 2004, and he was the editor-in-chief until the journal’s publication ended.

He started writing when he was a student; and after returning to Western Thrace, he wrote articles in Birlik and Öğretmen journals published by Western Thrace Turkish Teachers’ Union in 1960s, of which he was the executive board member and president and he also took after duty in these journals. He wrote in the newspapers of Akın, Azınlık Postası and İleri; and some of his stories were published in newspapers and journals of Turkey such as Varlık, Varlık Yıllıkları, Töre, 24 Saat, Devrim, Batı Trakya‘nın Sesi, Batı Trakya, Kardaş Edebiyatlar, Şiir Defteri, Tarla, Turnalar and Aykırısanat. He has also published in some media organs of Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia and TRNC. He has received the First Prize in the contest of Töre journal with his story named Muhacir Osman. His articles and poets were also published in some Turkish media organs in Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. His children’s book named Ay ile Güneş was published both in Turkey and in Greece.

Rahmi Ali has written poems, diaries, essays, memories, reviews and travel essays; and he is one of three founders of Şafak journal which began to be published in Greece from 1989 onwards, and he is the editor-in-chief of this journal.
