Poet and writer (b. 1 January 1946, Kızıltepe / Mardin). He attended primary and secondary schools in Kızıltepe. He graduated from Diyarbakır Primary Teachers Training School for Boys (1954). He worked as class teacher. He graduated Diyarbakır Institute of Education, Department of Turkish in 1976. He served as Turkish teacher and director in various cities and provinces. He completed his undergraduation as graduating from Anatolian University, Faculty of Open Education, Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 1992 while he was working as Director of Söke Branch of the Ministry of National Education in Aydın between 1985-1994. Then, he was appointed as Director of Çamaş Branch of the Ministry of National Education in Ordu. He retired by his request in 1995. He is a member of The Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey and Folklore Research Institute.

His poems, articles on folklore and essays were published in local publications and culture and art reviews from 1962. His first poems were published in the newspaper  Mücadele (Diyarbakır). Later, his works were published in the reviews İslâm, Hilâl, Oku, Tarla, Çaba, Defne, Çağrı, Türk Edebiyatı, Adımlar, Eflatun, Türk Folkloru, Türk Folklor Araştırmaları, Erciyes, Gülpınarı, Tohum, Hareket, Türk Dili, Türk Edebiyatı and the newspapers Yeni Söke and Söke Ekspres. He undertook the post as director of the culture-art pages of the newspaper Yeni Söke. He received the Turkish Folklor Institution Service to the Turkish Folklor Award in 1998. He received the Office of The Prime Minister, Directorate General of Press and Information Award with Yerli ve Yabancı Gözü ile Yunus Emre (Yunus Emre from the Perspective of Foreigners and Domestics). He received award from Union of Aegean Researchers and Writers in 2003 and the research award from Aydın Journalists Association. He received the Söke Municipality Service to Söke Culture in 2004. Besides, he received various plaquettes and honorary awards.
