Psychiatrist, poet and writer (b. 3 June 1928, İzmit). He attended Gölcük Saraylı Primary School and graduated from Kabataş High School for Boys and Istanbul University, Faculty of Medicine (1953). He studied at Istanbul University, Çapa Department of Psychiatry and at Cerrahpaşa Neurology Clinic to be a Neuro-Psychiatry Specialist. He served as a mental health specialist at the Guidance and Research Center at the İstanbul Police Department and at the İstanbul National Education Management, the Ministry of Health, and Üsküdar Mental Health Dispensary. Together with his wife Suna Tanaltay who is a psychologist, they worked at their private clinic from 1959.

His first poem, Girer de Girer (It Goes In and In) was published in the magazine Kaynak on 1 January 1952. Then he published his essays and poems in the magazines and newspapers Vatan, Milliyet, Kaynak, Beş Sanat, İstanbul, Mavi, Özsu Edebiyat, Tıp ve Eğitim, Sanat Çevresi, Şiir Ülkesi, Size and Ana. He took part in interviews on the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, Channel 6, Channel 9 and HBB. He is the member of the Writers Syndicate of Turkey, the Turkish Authors Association, the Mental Health Association of Turkey and the Poets Association of Mersin.
