Literature researcher (b. 1945,
İstanbul). She attended Üsküdar High School for Girls and graduated from Robert College,
American High
School for Girls and then Robert College,
Department of Comparative Literature. She obtained her PhD in the English,
French and German branches of the Department of Comparative Literature at Harvard University
in the United States.
She became a professor (1988) at Boğaziçi
University where she was
an academician in 1975. She wrote various chapters of the book Çağdaş Uygarlığın Oluşumu (Formation of Modern Civilization,
1986) in which she was an editor together with other academicians of the
university.
