Poet (b. 1931, Datça / Muğla - d. 12 July 2002, İzmir). His full name was Ece Ayhan Çağlar. He attended the Atikali Elementary School, the Zeyrek Secondary School, the Atatürk High School for Boys (1952), and graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences (1959). He worked as the governor of the provinces of Gürün, Alaca (1962-63), Çardak (1965-66); as a proof-reader and an editor at the Sinematek, at the Encyclopedia of Meydan Larousse and at the E Publications in İstanbul. He had to go to Switzerland for several times for the operations on his brain (1976-78). He spent his last days at the Gürçeşme Rest Home of the İzmir Municipality. He is buried in the village Yalova in Eceabat in Çanakkale.

His first poem was published in the review Türk Dili in February 1954. His later works were published in the reviews Varlık, Yenilik (1954-55), Pazar Postası, A and Yeditepe (1955-60). One of the most important names of the poetry in the Republican era, and particularly of the "Second New" movement, he has influenced young poets of his generation, and was read with great interest with his original ideas and criticisms.
