Journalist
and writer (b. 1972, Çayeli, Rize). His full name is Cemal Azmi Kalyoncu. He
completed his primary, secondary and high school education in his hometown. He
graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Communication (1994). In 1993 he
started as a journalist on the newspaper Zaman. After one year, he
worked as economy editor at Aksiyon, of which he was one of the
founders. He discontinued his master’s at İstanbul University, Faculty of
Economics then in 1998 he did his military service. After he came back from
Diyarbakır where he spent his short military duty, he started to write biographies
about well-known Turkish people and their families. He won the Writers Union of
Turkey 1999 Press Report Award with these works. He works for the review Aksiyon
in İstanbul.
