Researcher-writer (B. 1939, Istanbul- D. 1994, Istanbul). He graduated from Jewish High School (1959). He received education at Istanbul Faculty of Law for a short period. He has done his military service at Diyarbakir Gazi Primary School as reserve officer teacher. He worked as teacher and administrator at minority schools in Istanbul. He prepared the annual calendar of traditional agenda of Association for Helping Students. He participated in several charity organizations of Turkish Press Union and several Jewish institutions.

He has published his articles and poems at several newspapers since 1963. He suggested to “celebrate glamorously” the 500th Anniversary of Acceptance of Jews into the Ottoman State who run away from the Spanish inquisition. His suggestion was accepted (1982). As the journalist Avram Joseph Hazan from Izmir suggested hundred years ago for 400th Anniversary Celebrations; Benbanaste’s suggestion was very effective, even at the corridors of White House. He has participated as a speaker to the meeting on secularism and Ataturk at Bogazici University (1988).
