Linguist. She graduated from Ankara University,
Faculty of Political Sciences (1969). She has completed her doctoral studies in
the field of international economy (Paris – Nanterre University, 1978). Her
lectureship at Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University
was ended by September 12, 1980 arrests. She stayed in Mamak Prison for three
years. This period caused a new area of interest, linguistic. After the prison
years, she worked as a translator. She was among the founders and editors of Kuram and Ludingirra journals. She worked as an editor in Sombahar journal.
She has taught Turkish and Creative Writing lectures
in Academy Istanbul and Yeditepe
University between 1996
and 2003. She has several articles and translations. She had a column in Radikal newspaper’s weekly book annex
under the name “Linguistic Problems”.
