In 2014 the fields medal was the first woman and the first Iranian. Since 1936, the prize has demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the field of Mathematics and are given to promising mathematicians under the age of 40.

Maryam Mirzakhani, 40 years old, has passed away in July 15, 2017 in the history of the USA. 40-year-old Mirzakhani, had been battling breast cancer, the cancer had spread to the bones. Jan Vondrak theoretical computer scientist was married and had a child.
