Scholar, theosopher (b. ?, Ankara – d. 1451, Gelibolu / Çanakkale). There is not enough information on his life. It is estimated that he and his brother Ahmet Bican were educated by their father Yazıcı Salih Efendi who was an intellectual person. His deep knowledge of Arabian and Persian, hadi*, Islamic theology, canon law and theosophy shows that he had well educated. It is known that he was guided by the great theosopher of era Hacı Bayram-ı Veli, was caliph of him and there were a lodge of him in Gelibolu. In Evliya Çelebi’s Seyahatname (Book of the Travels), his monastery is mentioned with praise. Yazıcızâde brothers were guided by Hacı Bayram-ı Veli in a travel to Edirne where they went to meet Sultan Murat II.

He published his works in his “suffering house”, which is still present. His first work Megaribü'z-Zeman (Sunsets of the Time) is in Arabian. His second work Muhammediye and work of Ahmed Bican Envaru'l-Âşıkîn are explanatory translations of Megaribü'z-Zeman. Muhammediye was read in various regions such as Crimea and Kazan and completed in 853 of the Hegira (1449). This work consisting 9119 couplets was composed and read through centuries like Mevlid of Süleyman Çelebi. His tomb was out of Gelibolu, on the way to İstanbul.
