Güven Turan

Poet and writer (b. 2 December 1943, Gerze / Sinop). He graduated from Samsun High School, Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of English Language and Literature (1968). He worked as a lecturer at Ankara University, Faculty of Sciences and copywriter at an advertisement company in İstanbul.

His poems, critiques and translations were published in such reviews as Yelken, Ataç, Devinim, Dönem, Alan, Soyut and others from 1962. He collected the Turkish Language Association Novel Award in 1979 with Dalyan (Fish Trap, 1978), the Yunus Nadi Short Story Award in 1990 with his book Düş Günler (Dream Days) and the Yunus Nadi Unpublished Poetry Book Award with Bir Albümde Dört Mevsim (Four Seasons in One Album).
