Gağa, Hüseyin Hüseyinzâde

Poet (b. 15 June 1924, Agstafa / Azerbaijan – d. 1992). He was known Gağa nickname. Also he was known as Hüseyin Hüseyinzade. He used his death son’s name as a surname. He completed his primary and secondary education in Agstafa where he was born. he graduated from Baku Institute of Pedagogic then he worked as a teacher in Tovuz. He attended World War II. After the war, he was send military engineering school in Moscow. Then he became an artillery officer. He went on his education Baku State University, Faculty of East Sciences. He became an assistant in Moscow Gorky Institute of Literary. Then he turned back Baku again and he went on his studies in there. He worked at different foundations and associations actively.

He wrote poems and plays. He was deemed worthy of Azerbaijan Public Poet. His poems looked like Dede Korkut Fairy-tale. Most of his poem was composed to music and translated to different languages. He did directorship of Poet Union of Azerbaijan since 1982.
