Mübahat Kütükoğlu

Economic historian. She was born in 1932, in Izmir. She graduated from the Department of History of the Faculty of Literature of the Istanbul University. She started to work as an assistant in the Chair of Economic History of the Faculty of Economics of the same university. After preparing her doctorate (1963) and associate professorship (1972) theses on “Osmanlı-İngiliz İktisadî Münasebetleri”, she worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Ottoman Institutions and Civilization History of the Faculty of Letters in 1973 and she became a professor in 1979.

She performed the tasks of the chair of department since 1977 and the Directorship of History Research Center of the Faculty of Literature of the Istanbul University since 1984. She was deemed worthy of the Outstanding Service Award by the Turkish Writers Union in 2010 because of the services she provided to the scientific life.
