Sait Başer

Researcher on literature and cultural history. He was born on December 4, 1957 in İleğil village / Yalvaç / Isparta. He graduated from Istanbul Sağmalcılar High School and Istanbul University, Department of History (1982). He completed his master’s degree at Social Sciences Institute (1984). He completed his doctoral studies at the same institute. His doctoral thesis was named “Turkish Identity According to Yahya Kemal and Reflections of his Opinions among the Public”. He received 1998 Eurasian Foundation’s Award for Serving the Thought of Turkish. He continued his studies as a lecturer at Sakarya University, Faculty of Sciences and Letters, Department of Philosophy.

His articles were published in journals such as Türk Edebiyatı, Kültür Dünyası, Doğu Türkistan’ın Sesi, Türk Yurdu. He worked as publication manager of Kubbealtı Academy Culture and Art Foundation between 1984 and 1994; and implemented the duty as editor-in-chief for Kubbealtı Akademi Journal. He prepared the corpus of Nihad Sami Banarlı. He is known with his works on Turkish cultural history. He is the general secretary of Istanbul Turkish Hearths.
