Writer (b. 1935, Diyarbakır). He graduated from Diyarbakır High School (1955). He left his studies at Ankara University Faculty of Law and began to work. He worked as an official from 1955 to 1963. Later on he worked for the General Directorate of Turkish Culture Associations (which subsequently became the ‘Community Center’, which were for social education) and the Federation of Turkish Teacher Associations and the Turkish Language Association. In 1964, he established Toplum Publishing House and published the review Toplum (1964-65, 12 issues published). In 1967, he established Memleket Publishing. He worked for several associations and foundations.
He edited newspapers and reviews such as Dernek,
Rençber, Sendika and Sosyal Adalet. He was held under investigation
for the books he published and was sent to trial. In 1969, for violation of
article 142 of the constitution, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison and
six months in exile because of the publication of the book “Our National War of
Independence” by Ho-Chi Minh, the President of Vietnam. In 1972, he was acquitted and resumed his
studies after establishing a publishing house with the same name (Toplum
Publishing House). He continued publishing books until the end of 2003.
His first article was
published in Demokrasiye Güven (Diyarbakır) in 1950. From then on, his
articles and stories were published in newspapers and reviews such as Diyarbakır,
Hisar, Yelken, Kitap, Belleten, Varlık, Toplum, Bilim ve Sanat.
